Automating things with IFTTT

I may be a bit late for the party, but I have just found the joys of IFTTT. Sure I had heard about the service before, stumbled upon the site too, but never done anything with it. Today my curiosity took over and I decided to create an account and check this thing out. It looks promising. IFTTT is like any of those automation tools there used to be and much more. With it you can automate your blog posts to be shared around your social media accounts, the iOS photos to be uploaded to for instance your Dropbox on the fly, emails to be sent when someone shares a photo on Instagram (you old...

Of headphones, ears and how one size doesn't fit all

My new headphones arrived today. They aren't anything fancy, just very cheap and very simple in-ear types. When I get new headphones it usually takes a moment for me to get used to them. The type of these is very familiar to me and the size and shape is pretty much the same as my previous ones. The thing that's different is the sound. These new ones have much more darker, base-heavy sound. The previous headphones were more clear and slightly high-pitched, so the change is very clear. I Tweeted about adjusting to my new headphones and a friend asked which ones I got. He's looking for new on...

Making friends with a simple note of sweet gratitude

Last week I wrote about why I switched from MailChimp to Mad Mimi. It was an honest text about my troubles with MailChimp and why I thought Mad Mimi would serve me better. A little less than a week passed and an email landed my inbox. Someone called Dean sent me a short note titled "You're awesome". When I opened the email I soon noticed it was from one of the Mad Mimi owners telling me he'd found and read my post and was very happy about it. He wanted to say thank you and additionally urged me to contact in case I had any questions or thoughts to share. In the end he asked if it would...

Why I switched from MailChimp to Mad Mimi

A couple of days ago I switched from MailChimp to Mad Mimi for my email list. MailChimp is likely to be more well known than the smaller Mad Mimi and may seem more professional for a Very Serious Business Person. Though the reason why I had previously selected MailChimp wasn't cause I was Very Serious or because it's more well known. For me their free account at that moment seemed better. I was being cheap and that was a mistake. What happened? I was doing fine with MailChimp for a while. I sent a bunch of emails, managed my lists, tweaked the forms and thank you emails and so fort...
