Depressing advertising

There's a big advertising campaign of some religious group going on around Helsinki. The ads are very vague. They don't tell what they are exactly about. I wouldn't know they are about a religious group unless someone had told me so. Well, of course I could guess it too.

Each ad features a photo of some person and (supposedly) a quote by that person. The quote is about how their life used to suck but now it's all better and sun is shining since... Well, there's a hint of brain washing there. Looks like one of these people has had some sort of a eating problem, a couple has been on a verge of a divorce and an airline ex-something has had a burnout and so forth.

The ads looks cheap, even though the campaign is obviously very expensive. It's everywhere. The photos of these people are very unflattering. The crude layout and yellow on sky blue looks terrible. Today, sitting on a bus, I had a though: These ads are created to depress people. To drive them to contacting this group. At least they depress me.
