Hello,
I'm Mervi Eskelinen!

When I was a kid I had this friend. We were good friends, playing together and visiting each other. Sometimes we read the same books, sometimes we watched the movies based on the books we had read. Like Gone with the Wind or Jurassic Park. Her home was by a lake, so when I was visiting her during summer, we usually went swimming at some point. Then came the teenage and we sort of grew apart. The last time we spoke was sometime in mid 90's. The last time we saw was most likely Spring 1997 or something like that.
A couple of years ago Facebook became popular here in Finland. At some point the both of us had joined in and friended each other. Now don't think we bonded immediately and became BFF's all because of FB. Or started to send nice messages every day. No no.
At the beginning of this month my old friend contacted me. She had moved here to Helsinki (the capital of Finland, in case you didn't know) and suggested us to meet. On this Wednesday we went for a coffee and tea. We met at the Central railway station and there decided where to go. She looked the same and somehow different. We talked about old friends and about our families. We talked about cats, work and studies. We talked about life. It was fun. I don't know what will happen. I don't know if we will go for a coffee and tea again, though it would be nice. I don't know. What I know it was easy and familiar. Old friends.
