Piranha
Anna from Split Reel listed her 5 guilty pleasure movies. Inspired by this I decided to write down a few words about a movie we watched another day. The movie, Piranha (2010), goes to the category of I would never. Still I did, therefore I'm writing this.
During a spring break prehistoric piranhas got loose to a lake and feeds on a bunch of idiots. Many of the idiots are hot babes with huge (fake) boobs. There's loads of blood and naked chicks. There, I summarized the whole movie. But here's the actual twist: The movie isn't that bad. It's actually funny and in times so terrible it turns out to be good. Besides there's Adam Scott on it.
The thing is I can't really explain why I liked Piranha. Must say, when we started to watch it, I was ready to get off the board and go do something else. I'm really not into this sort of splatter horror with nudity. Actually I'm not really into any sort of horror. However there's something so genuine and honest about the way the movie is made. It doesn't even try to be serious and it doesn't even try to be some sort of higher art. It's not smart and it doesn't have much of character building or any real science. It's incredibly dumb and gross kind of fun. I recommend, surprisingly.
