Hello,
I'm Mervi Eskelinen!
An artist, nerd and sorcerer, dedicated to make world softer and better for everyone, and to get you to make more art. Make art, change the world!
Do you need reasons why Twitter would be or continues to be a good platform for you? Here are a couple of those reasons.
Because so many different kinds of people from so many different parts of the world are using Twitter for many reasons of their own, there's pretty much everything for everyone. If you are a food blogger, you can find a whole bunch of foodies with new recipes and more. In case you like to stalk celebrities many of them are Tweeting these days. Or if photography is your thing, there are lots of photo folks on Twitter.
You can find new contacts and even friends (as have I) through Twitter. You can have conversations with them and, if it feels right, take the conversations outside Twitter too. Don't be shy. At first it may take some time to get the connections up and running. Remember: Don't just follow and expect everyone to follow back and start to converse with you. Take the first step and say something yourself!
People are constantly Tweeting links to interesting (and sometimes not that interesting) articles and other resources. Besides all those links in times someone says something that can inspire you to write a blog post or spark an idea for your next product. It has happened to me as well.
If the inspiration doesn't come that easy, you can also ask your Twitter followers (or a certain person) for instance their opinion about a certain subject. Twitter is full of new and old stuff in 140 characters.
Please approach this subject carefully. Too much promotion is bad. It's a great way to repel your followers and make sure the remaining ones will quit actually reading your Tweets.
However when done right way Twitter can drive more readers to your blog or more hits (and sales) to your products. Promotion is something lots if not most of people do with Twitter. Some do it knowingly, some unintentionally. The best ones do it so that their followers will approve and even invite it.
On the other hand you can get other's to promote your stuff through Twitter as well. The best way to do this is to be active on Twitter yourself. And remember to thank those who share your content (or they will stop sharing it after a while).
This is a reader supported blog without paywalls and advertisement. If you appreciate my work and want to help me rewild the internet, please consider becoming a free or paid patron today. I can't do this without the support of readers like you. So if you can to contribute financially, I would really appreciate your help.
