Five blog post ideas for showing your personality

One of the reason why personal blogs get interest is that people want to know about other people. To connect with the others all around the web. In order to add personality to your blog, you must reveal a little something about yourself. Finding the balance between being personal enough and not being overly personal requires skill.

If you are running out of ideas how to do it, here are five blog post ideas for showing all of us who you are (without oversharing). I'd like to hear how when you use these ideas, and linking back here would be great as well. Also check out the Ten blog post ideas for more inspiration.

1. # of random things about me - Oldie but goodie are the 50 random things about me types of posts. You can list (shortly) things you like or things you do. Something new, something old, all about you. Or you can go straight to listing a number of things you like (or love).

2. How sunny evenings/misty mornings/windy days/rain makes me feel - Talking about the weather is so general. There's no personality there. Think so? Think about how the gentle and warm summer rain feels on your face. Or how the howling wind or thunderstorm outdoors makes you want to hide under the covers. Take a weather that makes you really feel something and describe it.

3. Music/movie/show I secretly like/love/adore - Reveal a secret! Instead of kicking all the skeletons out of your closet, tell us about an artist or a band, a movie or a television show you really really like, but blush when you talk about it. Tell us why you are so into this thing and why you'd rather keep it as a secret.

4. Why I blog? - Tell us what drives you to blog. Do you wish to become successful by blogging? Or do you really want to help? Do you have an urge to write you cannot ignore? Be honest, be authentic.

5. A little thing that happened in my life - Write down a true story of your life. Some little, but somehow significant thing that happened to you. Maybe it was that one morning you got up way too early and outdoors it was all misty and silent. Or that brief moment a cute boy smiled at you. It's a thing you remember so well, even though it was "just a little thing".
