Hello,

Confidence, I believe, isn't something you are born with. It's something you learn, and something you can work in your life. Here are some very simple ways you can boost your confidence.
No matter what your genes provide you with, you can adjust your appearance. Take a shower, use the right kind of hair products, skin moisturizer and so forth. Get a new haircut. Wear clean and intact clothes.
Nicely done make-up helps a lot. Of course the make-up must be done over cleansed skin and overdoing it will make you look like a clown. The best make-up doesn't look too made-up.
Some time ago I remember someone noting somewhere that certain people you think are good looking aren't in fact so pretty. They just happen to be well groomed.
I've noticed I feel more confident when I'm wearing high heels. For a short girl it's obvious that getting a couple of centimetres higher from the ground makes a big difference. But there are other reasons too. High heels shape my legs (and butt too). They also force a person to stand tall, instead of hunching down.
Standing tall is the way to look more confident and therefore also make yourself to feel more confident. If you are a tall person, take an advantage of it. If you are short like me, there's no use to appear even smaller. Get your head as high up as possible and you'll appear confident.
Having friends who constantly try and beat you down won't help with your confidence. I should know.
Try and get rid off (or ignore) the "friends" or other people close to you who only make you feel angry, anxious or generally bad about yourself. There's a limit on how much critique one can take. They may think they are being funny, but constantly being the target of the laughter doesn't make you feel very good about yourself.
Invest into the ones who actually are nice to you and are making your confidence grow. The rest can either learn to be nicer or they are gone from your real friends list.
Don't panic! You don't have to become a professional athlete or build huge muscles. A little bit of exercise will help you be healthier and may be cognitively protective.
Light exercise will make you feel better being inside your body and that helps you boost your confidence. Healthier people tend to appear more confident, haven't you noticed?
