Social media tip 3: Don't follow the rules
The so called social media experts keep telling us how to tweet, how to use Facebook, how to blog and so forth. Some of these "rules" are good and it's a great idea to check them out.
But since you are being smart you can as well toss the rules after reading them through.
If they tell you to "tweet interesting and useful links", tweet instead about how cool your office is even in this hot weather. Or maybe you can take a photo of the view from the window right there and share it with the rest of us.
Obviously tossing the rules doesn't mean you should never ever keep them in mind. Take the best of them but spice it up by not following them all the time.
