Social media tip 10: Glow

Web is full of people doing the same thing: Sharing the same links, tweeting the same ideas, giving the same comments. There's also loads of people afraid of showing their personality and passion. You don't need to be one of them. Not even if you are a "serious" business person. Being enthusiastic about what-ever-might-make-you-enthusiastic gives you a certain glow. You will stand up from the crowd. You will make people your friends and followers interested or even enthusiastic about what ever you are sharing. Find your passion, and be passionate about it. Have fun and show it. Have a pe...

Social media tip 9: Have fun!

Yes, you are a serious businessperson. Yes, we know that. But what we don't know is you are human. And it's human to want to have fun and be entertained. Girls just want to have fun, but so do boys, women and men. Even if we won't always admit it. Your business can afford a little joking around. Social media tip 6: Live and let live

Especially if you use social media in personal capacity and don't necessarily present a company (owned by someone else) or another person, it's up to you what you want to do. Write about things you like. Use Twitter against the "rules". It's your blog, or your Twitter feed or your Facebook wall. It adds tons of personality to your social media presence. It's easier for others to trust you if you are who you are and do what you do and don't try and pretend to be someone else. Doing as you like is unfortunately difficult. You are likely to get concerned how people around you feel about it....

Social media tip 5: Shorten it down

If you write a long post on your blog the readers are likely to skim it through. Actually, if you write a short post they are still likely to skim. In order to get your message out there, keep it short and use clear and simple language. The social media users don't have time in decrypting difficult words and hidden meanings. Keeping things short is unfortunately difficult business: When you are being short you might easily end up just being blunt and even plain rude. Find the balance between being nice and being short.
